How are you finding home workouts? 🤸🏽‍♀️
.
Are you managing to keep going with them or are you waiting until the gyms reopen again?
.
I'm finding it helps to have a focus to my workouts - I'm focusing on single leg strength which is really helping my running and on basic exercises like these single arm rows to help improve my posture 😊
.
I definitely miss having a barbell and heavier weights to work with but I'm trying to do things which will help in the long term to keep me motivated 💪

4 miles of muddy intervals ticked off this morning 4 miles of muddy intervals ticked off this morning 🏃🏽‍♀️✔️
.
Even though I live in the middle of the city there is a route near me along trail-y paths by the river which is the perfect loop for intervals and is where I do most of my more structured speed sessions 😊
.
It's safe to say I was very glad I wore trail shoes this morning so the mud slowed me down slightly less 😂😂

Peaceful morning run 🏃🏽‍♀️ . I headed Peaceful morning run 🏃🏽‍♀️
.
I headed out along the roads while the sun came up and then came back along the river and it was so calm and still 🌅
.
I love running first thing before most people are out as it is so peaceful and especially at the moment you don't have to worry so much about avoiding people. Although I do wear a buff round my neck partly for warmth but also to put over my nose and mouth when I pass other people 😷

I'm resharing these again for anyone struggling wi I'm resharing these again for anyone struggling with home workouts during lockdown 3 🏡
.
They are all simple ways to vary the format of your workouts so even with limited equipment (or just your bodyweight) you can make each workout different and avoid boredom 💪

Early morning stretch and strengthening session co Early morning stretch and strengthening session completed 💪
.
I've been a bit out of a routine with strength workouts and haven't done a proper one in a few weeks so it felt good to get back on track today with a good session 😊
.
With gyms closed it can be hard to feel motivated to do strength sessions but with a bit of creativity you can think of some new goals that are achievable from home and focus on them 🏅
.
For me, I've been doing a lot of single arm/ leg stuff which I find helpful for running and is easier with the equipment I have. So I've decided to try and master pistol squats this lockdown - they don't need any equipment and are a good way to test your single leg strength, flexibility and balance 😊

What are your strength goals for this this lockdown?

I think I need to get a map out and look at all the footpaths I've come across to work out which are worth me going along 🤔
.
But I made the most of running through this field which apparently normally has cows in but there weren't any so I decided it was safe to run through 😂🐄

I'm trying to find more running routes at the moment to avoid getting bored of my normal ones so I went along a different stretch of river from normal 🏃🏽‍♀️
.
The path was a lot smoother than I remember (I think maybe it's been resurfaced 🤔) so Jamie and I will try it at the weekend as finding smooth, flat routes for the wheelchair is always nice and gives us more options for walks ♿❤️

First run in a while 🏃🏽‍♀️ . A combina First run in a while 🏃🏽‍♀️
.
A combination of constant ice and a niggly knee mean I hadn't been running since Boxing Day (I did attempt a run on the 28th but it was far too icy and after a nasty accident on my bike in the ice a few years ago involving a lot of blood and a knocked in tooth I'm always very wary of ice so I headed back after about 400m of tentative walking) but I got out this morning for a couple of miles to test my knee and it felt fine 😊
.
My goal for this year is to finally get rid of my injury because it's better than it has been for ages, I just need to stick with the physio exercises and stretching (probably should have done more of them over Christmas but never mind 😂) so I'm going to continue with my approach of running when I can and resting as soon as it starts hurting and hopefully we'll get there 🤞

I thought with the snow I'd have to turn back at one point but off road the paths were a lot less icy and just very muddy so it was a slow run but getting 4 cold wet miles done before breakfast felt good 😊
